Residential Intensive Out Patient Programs |
||||
|
130 HOURS OVER 21 DAYSPROGRAM DESCRIPTIONThe Residential Intensive Outpatient Programs meet for 130 hours for 21 days. The groups are gender specific and consist of lectures, films, worksheets, discussions, acupuncture, art therapy, field trips, role plays, physical exercise, and individual and group therapy. Treatment consists of alcohol and drug information, cross-addiction, consequences of abuse, relapse prevention, spirituality, relationships, grief and loss, self-esteem, codependency, nutrition, food issues, meditations, and the philosophy, support, and attendance of 12-step programs. In addition, therapy explores maladaptive emotions, attitudes and behaviors related to alcohol and drug abuse as well as everyday living skills such as working, legal issues, and emotional relationships. Finally, clients learn and apply new healthy behaviors and attitudes which contribute to a chemical free lifestyle.
The schedule requires a full time commitment as treatment is held seven days a week; mornings, afternoons, and evenings. In addition to formal treatment, residents must also attend weekly AA / NA meetings along with going to the YMCA regularly.
An individualized Aftercare Plan is developed for each client. Aftercare Plans can include: halfway house placements, home based parenting, weekly meetings at Park Avenue Center, self-esteem programs, vocational programs, individual counseling, or any number of other referrals. Our goal is to give each client the best possible opportunity to obtain a healthy lifestyle.
In order to provide a safe and supportive environment during treatment, clean, comfortable, supervised housing is provided at Park Annex which is adjacent to Park Avenue Center. Clients are responsible for their own food preparation and housekeeping. A food and spending allowance is provided. [ Top of Page ] |

Long-Term Residential Outpatient Programs |
||||
|
130 HOURS OVER 9 WEEKSPROGRAM DESCRIPTIONThe Long-Term Residential Outpatient Program meets for 130 hours of treatment over a typical duration of nine weeks while providing supervised housing for clients while they attend a relapse focused outpatient program. The Program is intended to serve clients who have completed a minimum of two primary treatments and have not been able to maintain a sober lifestyle. The focus of treatment is issue oriented with a strong emphasis on Relapse Prevention skills, establishing short-, medium-, and long-term goals, crisis intervention, and the development of an overall case plan. Case management services are critical throughout the treatment process providing clients with assistance and support to find a job, affordable housing, transportation, basic needs and accessing community resources. Working full-time affords clients the ability to become financially stable while helping to build self-esteem and reinforcing everyday living skills included in recovery.
Upon entering the Long-Term Residential Outpatient Program, clients will participate in the Intensive Program for stabilization. The length of stay in this portion is individualized depending on the client’s needs but, it usually averages about one week. Clients are then transferred into the Gap Program where they are expected to obtain full-time work during the day or the equivalent through other activities. In addition, clients will participate in evening programming during the week while also attending outside AA / NA meetings. The length of stay is again individualized depending on the client’s needs however; most clients are in the Long-Term Program for approximately nine weeks.
An individualized Aftercare Plan is developed for each client. Aftercare Plans can include: weekly meetings at Park Avenue Center, self-esteem programs, vocational programs, individual counseling, home-based parenting, or any number of other referrals. Our goal is to give each client the best possible opportunity to obtain a healthy lifestyle.
In order to provide a safe and supportive environment during treatment, free, clean, comfortable, supervised housing is provided at Park Annex which is adjacent to Park Avenue Center. Clients are responsible for their own food preparation and housekeeping. A food, spending, and transportation allowance is provided until clients are financially stable which usually occurs during their fifth week.
Finally, it is important to emphasize the funding of these programs. Park Avenue Center receives funding for 130 hours of treatment only. We are not reimbursed from any other source. Therefore, clients do not have to pay a room and board cost and they are able to keep any and all of the money they earn while working or money that they may have coming in from an outside source.
