Mohamed Warsame, BS, LADC

Mohamed attended school at Anoka Ramsey and Anoka Technical College where he earned his AA degree in Community Health and completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Alcohol and Drug Counseling at Metro State University. Mohamed completed his internship at Park Avenue Center and was offered a position as a Group Facilitator upon graduation. He was then promoted to the role of Co-occurring Counselor in the Men’s Program. Prior to starting at Park Avenue Center, Mohamed worked in the healthcare field as Community Outreach with Midwest Quality Home Care where he assisted in communicating information between patients and healthcare professionals. He is passionate about working with MICD clients and it is his goal to provide an integrated approach that can be effective mentally, physically, and spiritually. In his free time, he likes to re-charge by working out and spending time outdoors with his children.

Haley Skillings, RN, BSN, CARN

Haley attended Anoka Ransey Community College where she earned her ASN degree and obtained her RN license. She is currently finishing up her BSN degree at Bemidji State. Prior to Park Avenue Center, Haley worked as the RN Nurse Manager at Meridian Behavioral Health. Haley has a passion for working with the MICD population and has seen many people find happiness and success in sobriety. She has applied for her CARN (Certified Addiction Registered Nurse) certification and was inspired to work in the addiction field as an RN because she saw that patients with substance use disorders are often overlooked in hospitals and clinics. She wants to ensure that every patient receives the same level of quality care.

Nasra Budul, ADC-T

Nasra attended Minneapolis College where she earned her Associates in Addiction Counseling. She completed her practicum at Park Avenue Center and was offered a position as Co-occurring Counselor upon graduating. She previously worked as a Lead Community Health Worker with Ready Set Smile. In her free time, she has volunteered with Mother’s Against Gun Violence and Mom’s Demand Action to advocate for gun violence prevention to end the tragic and senseless loss of community members to gun violence.

Shannon Haynes, AS, ADC-T

Shannon obtained her Associate of Science in Addiction Counseling from MCTC. Prior to joining Park Avenue Center as an Intake Float Counselor, Shannon worked with RS Eden as a Chemical Dependency Counselor. She has also previously worked with adolescents at the Anthony Louis Center. Shannon’s future plans include receiving her Bachelor’s degree and learning and growing within the field. She was inspired to work in this field as addiction had touched her own family. She considers her greatest strength to be her resilience and is passionate about working to help individuals make a total change in their lifestyle and have a second chance at life. When Shannon is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family.

Jill Berray, BS, LSW

Jill graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science degree from Saint Catherine University where she majored in Social Work with a minor in Chemical Dependency. Jill completed her internship with Park Avenue Center and was offered a position with our social work team upon graduation. She considers her greatest skills to be her deep empathy, caring, and ability to see the good in others. She was inspired to work in this field because she cares about the wellbeing of others and wants to help people meet their definition of success in life. She is passionate about helping clients make progress on their road to recovery and creating a safe and inviting environment for them. In her free time, Jill enjoys hanging out with her cats and walking around the lakes.

Ashley Snoke, MS, RDN, LD

Ashley received her Bachelors degree from Arizona State University and Masters degree from Texas Tech University, both in Nutrition and Dietetics. She has worked in the nutrition field for over 6 years and most recently worked as a Program Dietitian with the Emily Program assisting adults and adolescents struggling with eating disorders. Ashley chose to work at Park Avenue Center because she is passionate about mental health and helping individuals make long lasting changes to improve their lives. She has seen first-hand individuals suffering with substance use and the positive role that treatment team members have in helping someone recover. In her free time, Ashley enjoys biking around the lakes in Minnesota, reading, and taking her dog on walks.

Prince Smith, BA, ADC-T

Prince obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from Metropolitan University and completed his internship with Park Avenue Center. Upon completing his internship, Prince came to work for Park Avenue as a Group Facilitator and has been promoted to a full-time position working hands-on with the clients. Prince considers his greatest strength to be his ability to communicate and collaborate with individuals from all backgrounds, communities, and cultures. He is passionate about helping people grow and recognize that everyone is special with special gifts to contribute. In his spare time, he operates Prince Catering and has volunteered with the food-shelf to offer food support to other students in need. He enjoys spending time with his family, gardening/landscaping, and viewing documentaries.

Angie Caicedo, RN, BSN, PHN

Angie earned her Bachelors’ degree in nursing at Western Governor’s University. She’s worked as a nurse since 2015 and in the direct care field since 2005. Most recently, Angie provided in-home nursing services to individuals with physical and mental health conditions. She considers her greatest strength to be her ability to connect with clients and understand their needs. She was inspired to work at Park Avenue Center because she wants to help clients struggling with alcohol and drug addiction recover and meet their goals physically and emotionally. Angie is passionate about being a part of the solution for substance abuse and overdose deaths. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with family and listening to music.

Vanessa Mahoney, LSW

Vanessa attended Minnesota State University where she earned her Bachelor of Social Work. She has worked in the field since 2013, most recently as a Family Advocate with Solid Ground and as a Resource Counselor with Wellcome Manor Family Services. Her professional goal is to continue to work towards her Master’s degree. She considers her greatest strengths to be her ability to collaborate with other agencies and resources to build networks for her clients, to value the individual’s choice in their care, and to think creatively when resources are scarce to fill the gap. Vanessa is passionate about working in the chemical dependency/mental health field because she finds it inspiring to watch the resiliency of individuals working towards recovery and reconnecting to who they are and who they want to become. In her free time, she enjoys doing a variety of crafts/projects, cooking, and playing with her dog Gryffindor.

Lillian Hanzek

Lillian graduated from St. Cloud State University with her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Relations and a minor in Human Relations and Race. She started with Park Avenue Center as an Admissions Coordinator in 2020 and was promoted to her current position as Marketing and Business Development Specialist. Lillian prides herself on her forward thinking, compassion for others, and communication skills. She is passionate about helping others become the best possible versions of themselves. In her free time, Lillian loves baking, going to concerts with friends, and hanging out at home with her cat.
