Communications (Text Messaging and Emailing)

What is text messaging?

Text messaging offers a convenient way to send brief communications, and Park Avenue Center allows you to opt in to receive specific messages via text. These could include reminders for upcoming appointments, notices, or health and wellness tips.

You can sign up for text messages by notifying anyone in the Admission Team by calling in and speaking with them directly or sending them an email. You can adjust your preferences at any time by letting them know, and receiving text messages from Park Avenue Center is entirely optional.

If you provide a mobile phone number, Park Avenue Center will send texts to that number. Be sure to keep your information with Park Avenue Center’s website if you change your mobile number. This notice pertains only to texts sent through Park Avenue Center.

Are text messages secure?

Despite the security measures implemented by your wireless carrier, there’s still a chance that someone might intercept your messages, which means text messages are not fully secure.

For this reason, Park Avenue Center will avoid sending text messages that include sensitive personal information. However, since even non-sensitive messages could potentially be intercepted, it’s up to you whether to receive texts from Park Avenue Center.

Messages sent to your mobile number could be read by anyone with access to that device. Some phones display text messages on the screen even when locked, allowing others to read them. You can adjust your phone settings to prevent this if desired.

What does it cost?

The cost of texting depends on your wireless carrier plan. Park Avenue Center does not charge for the texting service itself.

What is the Park Avenue Center email program?

Email is another convenient method for communicating with members and patients, and Park Avenue Center allows you to opt in to receive important messages regarding your upcoming appointments or services via email.

You can choose to receive emails by notifying anyone in the Admission Team by calling in and speaking with them directly or sending them an email. Preferences can be modified at any time, and agreeing to receive emails from Park Avenue Center is not mandatory.

Emails will be sent to the address you provide when setting up your account. Please speak with the Admission Team to update your Park Avenue Center account settings if you change your email address.

Is email secure?

Although your email service provider may implement security measures, these do not guarantee that your messages cannot be intercepted. Therefore, email is also not considered completely secure.

To protect your privacy, Park Avenue Center will refrain from sending emails with unnecessary personal information. If a message contains sensitive information, you will receive an email notifying you that a secure message is available from Park Avenue Center. Messages are mostly considered secure.  However, replies you make would be transmitted as a standard email.

A message sent to your personal email address may be accessible to anyone who can access your email account. Some people have their phones configured to show email messages on the screen even when locked, which could allow others to read them. You can change your phone settings to adjust this if needed.
